Admissions Information

The Master of Informatics at Grenoble is a highly competitive academic program. The program is limited to 120 students, with selection on the basis of prior academic and/or scientific achievement as documented by academic transcripts, a motivational essay, letters of recommendation and standardized test scores.

Language requirements

Students from countries where English language is not the primary language are required to provide evidence of Competence in English. (Native speakers are exempted) English scores required for the MoSIG program: TOEFL IBT 100 min / TOEIC 750 min / IELTS 6.5 min. This is equivalent to CEFR level B2, although we will consider applicants with 500 or better who have an excellent academic record.

Degree requirements

For admission to the full two year program you must have a Bachelors Degree of at least 3 years duration (equivalent to the European License).

For admission directly to the second year program you must have a 4 years Bachelors Degree or equivalent.

To be admitted to the program, candidates must have previously completed their undergraduate studies and been awarded a Bachelor degree in either Science (BSc) or Engineering (BEng) that includes courses in computing and solid practice in programming. Applications of candidates with bachelor in Computer Science or Computer Engineering will be preferably considered. Skills in mathematics (algebra, probability theory) and Informatics (C/C++/JAVA, algorithms, Computer architectures, Operating Systems principles), Data bases and software engineering are required.

Students who are currently registered at the IM2AG or Ensimag should contact their respective academic studies directors for admissions procedures.

Students from outside Europe

If you are from one of the following countries: Algeria, Argentina, Benin, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chile, China, Colombia, Congo, Gabon, Guinea, India, Ivory Coast, Japan, Lebanon, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritius, Mexico, Morocco, Peru, Russia, Senegal, South Korea, Syria, Taiwan, Tunisia, Turkey, United States of America, or Vietnam, you must apply both to Campus France (to obtain a Visa) and to the Masters program. (Note that in the Campus France web site, MoSIG is listed as a master of Grenoble INP).

Applying through Campus France is necessary to obtain a Visa, and you will have to enter your CEF number during the application process.

If you are not from one of these countries, you will need to contact the French Embassy for a student Visa. Attention: This process can cause long delays.

Whether or not you apply to Campus France, you have to complete your application for admission.
